Was it on your boat or a rental?

Reminds me of @toolbox's blade rattler in 'rattlesnake cove'. Insane.

Thats some BS. I was looking forward to fishing Barrett.
Have you ever had bbq rattler, super good. I know if you see them coming you can hit them away but what about the SOB comes up behind you and you never see it. Snakes are kinda like heights for me, I'm not afraid of falling, I'm afraid of smacking the hell out of the ground. I'm not afraid of snakes but I'm afraid of all the crap I'll get from my wife the next time I want to fish if I get bit.
Has there ever been a report where a tuber or non soul fishermen AKA boat guys, being bit by a rattler?
I wish I never read this post!!!

When I worked at SV I heard TONS of snake stories.

-Two guys came in sopping wet, water in the boat, etc...I asked what happened and they said (they had a motor rental) while anchored off the shore a rattler swam over, climbed the motor and came into their boat...they both jumped overboard and swam to shore. Eventually they got the boat back and confirmed the snake had vacated and came back.

-A gyu was fishing in a motor rental all the way back in Kimball. Casted towards some rocks, rattler came out and attacked the lure and ended up getting hooked bigtime. Guy reels in his lure, checks out the one helluva pissed off rattler, sticks the tip of his pole underwater and motors back to the dock. He pulls up (a good 30 minutes later) and tosses his pole (snake still attached) onto the dock finger, my eyes bug out as he tells me what happened and I carefully take one step closer for a better look and the dam thing was STILL ALIVE! Gave him a good laugh as I screamed and ran for a winch box :) Saw him the next week and asked him about the snake, he pulled up his shirt and pointed at his belt.

Never mind your wife letting you fish again, the price tag for the anti-venom can be over $150,000!

Yep, Red Diamond. Interesting how they ride on top of the water.

I just remembered I have a tube (don't use it often) and it wasn't a pleasant remembrance after just reading about freaking encounters with the devil! I all of a sudden don't feel like going a floatin after such a long time:chicken:. I'll end up losing my tube to a snake:bag:

For all of us getting our fishing panties in a bunch, snakes have always been their and we are still alive. I figure if we stay close to the shore that the snake rather hit the land then get in my tube. With that said, how do I cover the hole in the back of my fish cat?

Could it have been there before you got to the water or did you see it climb in? What a nightmare.

I truly believe that I picked the snake up on a Tuesday at El Cap, he climbed on board and found a home underneath my drivers console, and than came out for a little R&R Thursday at San V, when I noticed the snake it was 11:30 a.m when I stopped the boat to go to the bow and fish, I was getting out of my seat, that's when I caught movement, that snake was within inches of my feet, and I do not know how many times, my hands, feet, and legs were within striking distance, I should have gotten my arse bit off I was very lucky, I got it in the net for a safe release, this went down in the Barona arm area of the lake, he didn't bite me so I didn't bite him, he will live his days out, in the back of San V. By the way, another angler with a retractable pole helped me with the capture, I didn't get his name but his help was invaluable (the pole was a huge help)
