Made some random recent trips to Murray and figured I would just post one report to keep from boring many of you tired of seeing my Murray reports. Basically I been working the surface when I first get there and picking up a few small bass. Topwater has not gone off yet, but I'm still out there. Then, I flip a little in the tulles and later work worms or creature/craw baits in deeper water. Most fish I have caught are not too big. I been averaging only 3-5 bass each trip(and missing a few each outing, especially in the tulles).....still better than being skunked!
    Tight lines everyone! :)

Nice variety of baits, VinnyBass ! Mine would be, "look at all the fish I caught on a green Yum Dinger". "Both of them!"

It's a tiny bit cooler down here and it will be Ramona will be 103 degrees tomorrow . Maybe it will make for a "hot" bite up at your lake if you do go Saturday. Tight lines always. :)

Yes, I saw on the weather channel that La Mesa was going to be cooler than Ramona...especially on Monday/Tuesday. I'm gonna hit Sutherland Saturday, of course. Maybe I can get down to Murray next week or the week after on a Monday. Should be getting good for some topwater, ie frogs! :emoji_wink:

Your Murray is a lot like my Puddingstone. A well know “Dog” of a lake that will Skunk you if you don’t find the fish. Many times I have been 5 hours on the water without a touch. Keeping at it, I usually pull a Rabbit out of my fishing hat and get on them. Sometimes first cast. You just never know. It is not that big and I know every ledge, point and transition in that lake. Still haven’t pulled a double digit out of there but it happens for others from time to time. I do get stud looking small Bass that eat my big 8 inch ZMan Swimbaits. High of 96 today, My wet hat and plenty of cold water will increase chances of survival. Good luck to everybody who is going out today. Lets git ‘em!

If I only used the bait you that you have been very successful with, my kayak would weigh about 50-75lbs lighter when I would arrive at a lake. Heck, my boat would be so light from all the extra tackle that I would not need in it, that instead of buying a new truck to tow my boat, I would be able to tow it with a Smart car...ha ha. :)

Its funny because if someone reported the same thing from the same lake every few days....even I would be thinking OMG...not this idiot again...ha ha. :)
Thanks for the kind words and I most likely will be doing another Murray report(or several of them) in the future. :)

Does the "kids pier" still exist? Fished for trout there as a child. What a great idea that was!

There’s a pier there but it’s not the one that used to be years and years ago. I remember the pier in the kids pond. One time my friend Sal and I when we were kids caught 42 bluegill off that pier using garden and red worms. Ah the memories... I used to catch trout at Lake Murray using small marshmallows or Velveeta cheese.
Maybe you were the kid that took and ate all my marshmallows one day so I had to go home early because you ate my bait!
