Finally got my boat on the water! Hit up San V for one tiny Bass and a ticket! I still had the 19 sticker on my boat. I never got a renewal notice! I tired to explain to the nice officer that I had owned the boat more than 20 years and had always paid my renewal on time. I simply did not receive a notice. Did anyone else not get the renewal notice?

BTW, not only did I get a citation, but I had to leave the lake, along with my Son and Grandsons! Was not happy!

The DMV web site says a renewal notice will be sent out 60 days in advance. What about that? I tried to renew online and my CF number and hull number is "invalid". I copied it straight off my registration card! This is nuts! Why are my numbers suddenly invalid? What a racket! Fail to send out renewal notices and then begin the ticketing!

Your lucky that they didn't site you for fishing with your grandson if he doesn't live in your household.

Grrrrr! So done with all of this! The Ranger said this is basically a "fix-it" ticket. He said we could come back to the lake if we provided proof of paid registration. (that day. today) Right!?

BTW, not that I care but the guy had his mask on his forehead during the entire 20 minute ordeal! The older underling in his boat seem embarrassed by the whole deal. What a way to make a living!

Headed to AAA tomorrow to try to get this fixed!

We went to AAA the other day to pay for a vehicle registration. It wasn't bad. They have someone at the door controlling the people going it. Instead of showing your card they just asked for your phone number. They had you use hand sanitizer once inside.

I renewed online last time and got the same error the first try. You actually have to type in "CF" as part of your CF number with no spaces allowed.

Yep, did that! It was actually the last 5 digits of the Hull Number that was not recognized.
Viruses are helpless in the presence of hand sanitizer!

So here is what I found out. The registration was paid last September. Either the stickers did not come or were lost around the house, but in any case they did not find their way onto the boat. Cost me $30 for replacement stickers. All is well, right? Nope! The guy was more of a jerk that I thought. While his lips said "this is like a fix-it ticket" his pen checked "not correctable". That means I have to pay up or appear in court, or both. So was this about the money or my registration? I hate this state!

My daughter recorded the entire conversation. I wonder if the Judge would be interested in the "fix-it" part? I was all ready to go to the nearest Sheriff's station and offer my proof of registration. It is all about the fine!

Revenue enhancement program! Probably making up for lost dollars when the lake was closed for Covid!

Interesting that the ranger told me that I could come back to the lake that day with proper documentation, but the infraction was marked not correctable. Do words not mean anything? This was very easily corrected!

I went in about three weeks ago and it was scary efficient. I request they always run it the way they are doing it now. I don't think we were there longer than 5 minutes. Going back Monday to get my Expedition paperwork all set up from my purchase. I told the sellers I would do the smog then panicked because it was already paid for. Nothing to worry about passed with flying colors and compliments from the mechanic on what a clean, well running, ride I had. Last time I will ever have to do that - we don't have to have smog certs where I live. Hoping Monday will go as quickly as my last visit. Yay AAA.

AAA is great, better than going to the DMV.

A business is only as good as it's employees. I'd start there.

Wow, bummer Paul. The second shift of rangers was much nicer. One came by to warn us is was getting close to the time to leave (a half hour later), then proceeded to tell us of how he had so well fishing busters on the stretch we were on recently, and to keep an eye out!!!! Sure enough, they went off like gang busters minutes later. Then, at the ramp, I asked if they (another with him now) could sign off my 'fix it ticket' as my trailer had been expired (I too did not get a notice, nor my drivers license by the way, now expired since Jan.!). I had it corrected from AAA last week, no fine for being late, and only $10 for the next 10 years. He looked at it, and at first said he could, then said he didn't know if it would work, suggested a 'real cop' to do so. They were nice about everything though.
