Lots of issues here. A 17 yr old with a serious long gun = nothing but trouble. But lets start with the parents. He's 17 and mom n dad are still (legally) responsible for him and his actions, so wave bye bye to mom and dad's little nest egg - if they have one.

What makes a 17 yr old - or anyone any age for that matter - think that its a good idea to head out the front door with a long rifle and a militia attitude to a "protest" that you well-know is nothing but a violent riot? As much as people might feel the need or desire to do the same thing, they're only asking - maybe even begging - for trouble.

And I see that the mainstream media hacks are now climbing all over this with the "See how Trump's supporters are behaving" narrative. "See what they're doing? they're killing innocent lives that are doing nothing but peacefully protesting, all because they support Trump and this is his terrible, terrible agenda."

I have been watching and reviewing at the analyses for a few days now...His legal funding page.
    https://www.givesendgo.com/GUCZ

    The good:
Defending himself while the crowds were trying to smash him with a skateboard, stomp his lights out by foot and the last guy that paused before he attacked who had his arm almost shot off HAD A GLOCK IN HIS HAND.

    The bad:
Interstate fleeing.....but he tried to turn himself in and cops drove by him.
Underage in possession of a firearm.

Facing murder 1 which is a mandatory life sentence and is being tried as an adult. Killed 2 people and wounded 2 people.

There was allegedly a gofundme page for him that was taken down (hard to believe anything anymore).
From what I read he will be tried as an adult - not sure if that excludes the parental responsibility or not.

When I saw in the live stream the number of guys with rifles - it didn't appear that people around them had a mind set of "hmmm better stay clear of these guys... just in case". It was only a matter of time, at least in states that allow open carry, until this happened.

When he walked to one of the police cars you can see Rittenhouse quickly back away - I'm guessing the police inside told him to back off.

Really feel for the parents of the skateboard guy - they lost their son. Was not a smart move to go after a guy holding a rifle and using a skateboard on his head.

Take it back to the very beginning.

    a) unsecured weapon in a home / weapon within reach of a minor (parents' issue).
    b) no lock on said weapon, or the key for unlock mechanism was within reach of a minor.

The idiot that got his arm blasted was classic. Bring a gun to a gunfight and someone will end up bleeding. He's a moron, and the kid is a moron. Regardless of his reason, Mr Skateboard made a conscious physical choice to run toward trouble. Skateboard vs bullet. Obvious outcome. The kids' parents are going to pay huge, and the whole thing was Trump's fault... wasn't it?:emoji_joy:

Good points - regardless of the shootings, those issues will most likely be addressed in court.

The interstate fleeing is BS. The kid lives in antioch Illinois which is 20 mins from Kenosha. You can walk and be over the border. So going home 20 mins away is not fleeing the state to avoid arrest.

How can they try him as an adult on charges of a minor open carrying firearms. Something the media is leaving out, there is an exemption on people 16 and over for rifles and shotguns (meant for hunting, but hunting is not mentioned in the law so he is still legal to carry).

Also seems like the first guy shot was chasing the kid, throwing things at him and trying to take the rifle away. If someone tried to disarm me, they are catching a bullet for sure, ask any cop and they will agree.

Another thing, that first guy shot was a convicted child rapist. You cant look up his sex offender registry in Wisconsin anymore cause they take it down when the person dies, but you can still see his incarceration records from Arizona where he raped a kid and got 12 years in prison. The dude only got out in 2017 and is out there causing trouble again.

Here is the link to the AZ database
    https://inmatedatasearch.azcorrections.gov/PrintInmate.aspx?ID=172556

The skateboard guy was also a repeat domestic abuser. I dont have the records on hand, but easy enough to look it up.

I dont mention these things to say that they should be shot because of their past. I say it because it shows a pattern of behavior. It shows that these "mostly peaceful protestors" are mostly a bunch of degenerates that make bad decisions, like trying to take a gun from someone. Its not a far leap to look at the rest of the evidence and see they were attacking the kid.

The mob tried to straight up lynch that kid and he defended himself. I hope he gets off.

It's simple, he crossed state lines illegally armed and fled the scene, again interstate. Distance between his house and the the crime scene is irrelevant, though it is roughly 20miles or so isn't it? Springfield doesn't govern Kenosha

This is low hanging fruit as a Misdemeanor. They've started high with Intentional Homicide and will probably plea down to reckless homicide or manslaughter.

    * Wisconsin isn’t a “Stand Your Ground” state, and he was in illegal possession of a weapon.
    * There is also no legal right in the state to use deadly force for the protection of property you do not own.
    * The “Castle Doctrine” only applies to the use of deadly force in one’s home, vehicle or business.
    * If a person is not otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm, it is legal to carry any legal firearm openly in Wisconsin.
    * Illinois law requires anyone who owns any kind of firearm in that state to have a Firearm Owners Identification card, but that is only available to someone 21 or older, or someone with a sponsor who is 21 and eligible for a card.

I hope he gets cleared, too.. but I dont see that happening. Because if he was to be cleared, I think everyone knows that Kenosha rioters would burn everything in sight. They dont need a reason.. they only need an excuse.

Legally you are correct that distance is irrelevant, but I have a problem with how the media portrays it. If Kenosha wants to issue a warrant and have the kid come back, they can and the kid would probably turn himself in. I don't believe there was any intent to evade law enforcement by just going home.

    * Wisconsin isn’t a “Stand Your Ground” state, and he was in illegal possession of a weapon.
Stand your ground just means you dont have to try to deescalate or escape. If the bad man chased him, he was trying to escape, has nothing to do with stand your ground.
Also has nothing to do with castle doctrine. You have the right to self defense wherever you are as long as there is a threat of death or great bodily injury
The argument could be made that he was not using the firearm in defense of property. He was using it in defense of his own life. The child rapist was chasing the kid (not letting him escape). and trying to disarm him while other people around were firing other firearms. That situation is an immediate deadly threat to your life and justifies deadly force.

    * Wisconsin isn’t a “Stand Your Ground” state, and he was in illegal possession of a weapon.
Stand your ground just means you dont have to try to deescalate or escape. If the bad man chased him (not letting him escape), has nothing to do with stand your ground.

    * If a person is not otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm, it is legal to carry any legal firearm openly in Wisconsin.
So not illegally possessing a firearm in Wisconsin? Maybe he illegally possessed it in Illinois but that is not Wisconsin.

    * Illinois law requires anyone who owns any kind of firearm in that state to have a Firearm Owners Identification card, but that is only available to someone 21 or older, or someone with a sponsor who is 21 and eligible for a card.
As you said earlier, "Springfield doesn't govern Kenosha" so that has nothing to do with the events that happened in Kenosha. As far as Wisconsin is concerned, there is no law against brining firearms into the state, or carrying them openly.

I think the kid acted in self defense and I will have an open mind if new evidence comes up, but so far doesn't look that way.

He won't get hit with murder 1, but definitely will be hit with some form of felony. Every shot taken seemed to be in self-defense, but a 17 year old isn't going to have (to be fair, most wouldn't regardless of age) the critical thinking skills to not get into that situation in the first place. I would say though he would likely have more problems with Illinois than Wisconsin, as it does appear that he violated that state's firearms laws, and thus probably the source of his felonies. A competent lawyer can probably get him cleared on the charges in Wisconsin though.

Also, would be curious to know, directly, what the conversation between him and law enforcement entailed while running back behind police lines. He also probably did not help himself by leaving the state (20 miles ain't much, but leaving one state jurisdiction for another *can* create a ton of legal issues) but that is how that part went down and thats that.

I understand that leaving the state creates its own set of problems, but really what was the kid supposed to do? If the Wisconsin Cops wouldn't arrest him or take him into custody, was he supposed to rent a hotel room or just go home? He tried to surrender to the cops, maybe they just told him to go home and they would contact him later... seems unlikely to me, but if that's what happened...

I think ultimately it would rest on the directions he received from law enforcement. However, he has parents. Who might have money enough to get him a room for him to stay in the jurisdiction until that part was settled. Its not convenient, but it would have been prudent at least. Or go to a local precinct and make a formal statement there. Its the one part of all this that the AG I can see being able to use to pin his azz, and that is what has me concerned.

I believe that as well. He's 17.. he's just a kid. His "safe place" is home at his parents. Isn't that where most 17 yr olds run to when they're scared?

I see the point and understand the sentiment. But these are democrats we are talking about. They won't care about such things. They will manipulate the law to whatever they believe is necessary to make their point. In a just world, this wouldn't be an issue. He defended himself. Plain and simple. But given the charges its clear they want to hang him, and I wouldn't be shocked if Illinois gets in on the fun on both him and his parents.

This is a really good analysis that shows the sound spikes of the shots. Skip to 24:16 for the best view of the combined footage. You can clearly see the guy with the red shirt around his head/neck throw a brick bag and chase him to the cars, then Kyle shoots him, the red shirt guy says "F you" and continues to move towards Kyle. Kyle then fires more rounds and circles around the car back to the red shirt guy on the ground.
