Hey guys, looking for a little advice. Do y'all have any suggestions for a 10-25 lb or 15-25 lb rated rod for saltwater bass? I already have a heavier and lighter set up. There just looking for brands, action (fast, moderate fast, etc). Wanting it for the bays as well as for off shore calicos. I am going to pair it with one of three reels....an Abu Garcia Orra 2 baitcaster, a Daiwa Coastal 200 or a Lexa 300 WN... Any ideas appreciated.

    Pretty much this.
    For $180
I would be looking for for used uc bay bass or light black diamond inshore.
For buying new. The newest variant of tri helix californian rods are great for the price. My buddy just got one for full day yellowtail fishing and inshore umbrella rig fishing. If you find a I-rod Coastal series that would be nice too. The Daiwa proteus inshore rods would be my last choice. They definitely fish softer than the stated line and lure rate imo. Squidco usually has them in stock. Think mine was around 130$ out the door.

My only problem with the 13 fishing rods is the top locking piece for the reel seat. Eventually it pops out and locks the reel in the seat. My omen green broke last year in that spot. Took it to a local tackleshop and they confirmed that part was the weak point on those rods. They manged to fix it but just last week it broke again. Not worth it to get it fixed and the rod is out of warranty.

Yeah I liked the action on my omen green. Gonna replace it with a newer generation.
This is a visual for what I mean by the top locking thing breaking. I've had this rod for around 3 years+. Only reason it's all scraped up on the reel hood is from me taking off my stuck reel, twice.

Look at the phenix m1 freshwater swimbait rods. They make a mh, rated 1/2-3 that has done me well.

I have the 7’-3” M1. 10-25. I wish it came with quality cork top and bottom.. not a big fan of the split grip. Cork just feels more beef.... great rod itself though.

For sure. The reason I recommended the swimbait and not the regular m1 is that it comes with a longer, full handle. It’s eva, but comfortable. Plenty of room for a 300 reel and to tuck the handle in your armpit.

Even the black diamond inshores have pretty short split butts. Seen some guys that get them extended. Really like how they come out.
