The 23rd Annual Sand Diego Anglers tournament is finally in the books. After launch ramp reconstruction in 2018 and 2 cancellations last year due to high winds, we were greeted with excellent weather all day long, even though fog was predicted that morning. When the dust settled we had 3 teams within 1/2 pound of each other in the top 3. Winners were Bryan Davis and Whitney Uyeda walking away with this year trophy with a 3 fish limit of 10.43 pounds. It earned them the $1500 from Fishermans landing tackle, the Jackpot of $1450 and they anchored there finish with a 5 pound sand bass out of the bay for the $250 large bass award from Seaforth Boat Rentals. Not bad for a morning of simple bay fishing.

2nd went to past winner Mike Hill fishing with his son Andrew with a 3 fish sack of 10.16 pounds earning him $750 from Costa sunglasses.

3rd place went to past winners Brandon Buono and Dean Jamieson with a 3 fish sack of 9.93 pounds earning them the $500 from Hook up Baits.

Congratulations to all the winners (we paid down 25 spots and handed out $10,000 in cash this year)!

The Kayak division was one by our last winner Mark Kleiter. His prize money was sponsored again by Fast Lane Kayaks in Mission Bay. Congratulations and now everyone will be gunning for you!

Large halibut was caught by the team of Hendrix and Daiz and the pig weighed 20 pounds and earned them a little over $700 in the halibut JP sponsored in part by Printing on Fifth. They also won the largest spottie prize of $150 sponsored by Bill Scahefers Guide service. Congrats on a fine day of fishing!!

After the awards ceremony, we handed out about $12,000 in raffle prizes that took about 90 minutes to give it all away.

The BBQ was again outstanding with Iowa Meat Farms and Ballast Point Brewery headlining the event. Bass, Burgers and free beer, what a way to spend your Sat!

I would like to take the time to say a big Thank You to our biggest sponsors, who without there generous help, we could not make this great event happen! Tow Boat U.S., Fast lane Kayaks and Penske Ford in La Mesa!

Hope to see everyone there next year!
