Drug my tube down to the San Diego River yesterday. Water temps were still cold (55-57 Degrees) and expectations were low. Put the tube in at 10am and fished until around 2pm. Overcast sky and light breeze. Brought two rods, an 8wt w/ floating line for Indicator/Jigfly and a 6wt w/ Intermediate line and a mini white game changer. Spent most of the time working the Indicator/Jigfly setup from the tullie edge out to about 15ft. Ended up with 2 bites and 1 fish landed. Thankfully it was a nice 3lb class fish that made the cold legs worth it. Couple more weeks and things should start turning out at the river

Looks like a solid day to me - good work getting out there !
I'm still trying to find an excuse (alibi really) to log some casting time on a new SI Reel before Spring...

Great fish! Was curious where you put in? Is this over by the old-damn?

With the pandemic travel restrictions, trout on the fly are going to be hard to come by, so I've been loading up to do some bass fishing here locally and I'm so close to the river it seems like an ideal spot for some quick midday casts.

I can't imagine the stretch through mission valley would be ideal for tubing/fly casting, so if you're ok sharing, would love to know what part of the river you were on.

Thanks! Always love to see fellow fly anglers on SD Freshwater.
