    Hi,

I’ve seen guys fishing the river right by Best Buy on mission center dr. I walked past a guy and he said he’d been catching 10lb bass all day... not sure how true that was, but has anyone on here ever fished and caught anything? It’s across from the Best Buy and parallel to Mimi’s Cafe. I live pretty close by and if a reliable source confirms might have walk down there tomorrow!

No way anyone is catching 10lb'ers all day long...trust me! There may be some nice bass in those waters. I fished the next exit to the east of Mission Center Rd. decades ago for several years and caught lots and lots of bass. This was years before they developed the whole area. There are mostly clones in there I been told by a few friends I know that fish Mission Valley. Hey, you got nothing to lose, so take your rod, have some fun and hope you catch some nice bass.
    Tight lines to ya. :)

The guy was a fisherman. If it was true, everybody would be fishing there all the time. There isn't any place around so cal where you can catch ten pound fish all day, let alone once in a while.

Large bass become large bass for a reason.

    Reason #1. They’re not stupid.

It's a spot like many spots.. some fish with a few bigger ones.. not an easy place to fish, a place to fish nonetheless...

There are some big ones in there. If you browse through IG and YT and do some investigation, you'll see some recent catches of 6+ pounds.

Definitely not ten pounders “all day”...that section used to be great, but there was a huge die off a few years ago as well as vegetation taking over..it’s starting to make a small comeback but has a loooing way to go to get back to even half of what it used to be...the carp are still roaming there though if you’re into that sorta stuff..

Be like tryin' to get a 10 out of Barrett! BTW, I partly understand closing Sutherland (though it would crush my heart!) But closing Barrett... do they want an insurrection?

OMG!!! I forgot the name of that guy who was on SDFish and said he was "crushing it" at Murray claiming he was catching all types of bass over 10lbs on the same day. Funny.. as I know guys who were at the lake daily and even Fred at the dock never heard or seen any of these beasts he said he caught. Best part was he never even had a single pic of anything but constantly said every time he fished Murray he was "crushing it!" and catching huge bass. I never seen this guy ever and yet he said he was there when I was there the same day more than once. Do any of you guys remember that guys name? He changed it a few times on SDFish and then suddenly vanished. I can't believe I forgot his name. :-(
