I haven't been doing my normal San V mondays, spreading my self out on some of the other local lakes..maybe that was a good idea! I had a pretty good pattern going last time I was there..not today! I started the morning out throwing my fluke before the sun came up, picked up 2 fish, missed 3 others that rolled on it! There's still really no topwater, fished the fluke just under the surface. The fluke was done when the sun came over the mountain! I then went to my spots that were productive a couple weeks ago...nope, that patterns gone! I tried some deeper rock piles, some points, and some deeper grass..no dice! I ended up with 7 fish, all under 2 lbs and pretty thin. They were all caught dropshotting 10'-20', no real pattern with the 7 though! The good news though, I saw a lot of fry back in some cuts in the back of the lake! They appeared to be shad, but nothing was back there chasing. I also saw a bunch of 2" bluegill or red ears, which I havent really seen the last couple years. The aquaduct was flowing at it's max rate, which is always a good thing! There weren't many boats fishing today, probably half the boats were people cruising in the 95 degree temps. Hopefully the fry will move offshore and we will get to chase some busters this year..it's been awhile! The lake level is down a couple more feet since last trip and I swear the ramp is a mile longer than it was then...or the heat made it feel that way! 20220620_065408.jpg 20220620_123902.jpg 20220620_125752.jpg

Pretty hot day out there to be fishing(while I was chillin' in the air conditioned Harrah's Casino all day).....and glad you found a pattern and was able to put a few bass in the boat. We have good days and bad days, but getting out there and finding what works when it is tough bite is pretty rewarding. While most do not look forward to challenging fishing days, I personally enjoy the times when I am able to pull in a few under slow fishing conditions. I imagine you felt the same when you caught those bass today.
Anyway....the bass pic was nice, the aqueduct pic was great and the launch ramp pic...well...it made me really tired... :)
    Tight lines always

Good you stayed with it and caught 7. The ramp looks more like 5 miles long. Thanks for sharing mcfish

Way to work for them. With my limited angling skills I have to travel two thousand miles to get them.

Great report, thanks. And I feel your pain buddy. I was there two weeks ago and it was so tough, only had about six blowups and landed one. And that one luckily came back for seconds after I missed him towards dusk. Sunrise to sunset, and the grass is looking great all around the lake- I don’t know how I didn’t catch quite a few?

It was very strange, all that thick grass and I didnt see anything over 6" swimming around the grass! Even my fluke fish and bites were 10' off the grass..it has to change!

Too bad a guy couldn’t bring a golf cart and take $10 “tips” for rides back n forth. A car with gas prices today, you’d be in the negative.
I’d spend a day taking cash lol. It would add up quick

They have a cart that takes some people up and down...but somehow I've always missed out on it! You would think that fishing the lake 45 times a year, I would of accidentally got a free ride...
