How much is it to fish for a couple hours?
Which lake should I fish and what is the best tackle?
I may head there tomorrow for the first time, any information you all want to give would be helpful

    Thanks in advance

Probally one of the more expensive lakes to shore fish. I think last time cost me around 20 bucks.

It's more expensive because you have to pay to park also. Doesn't really matter which lake you fish there, everyone has their own opinions on which lake is best. I was there a couple of weeks ago and the grass was pretty bad so be prepared for that. Also the store is closed so bring any food and drinks with you. They're not allowing re-entry if you leave like they did in the past.

$10 for a permit via additional $4 for parking. Unless if you just wanna walk in and save that extra $4. Yes Santee is getting pricier by the year.

I don't believe you can walk in right now, only gate that is open in the drive-in gate at Lake 1. Maybe they let you walk in through that gate with only buying a fishing permit?

Weird, could have sworn the website said that was closed. Normally that's where I walk-in anyways if I'm fishing alone.

Yes you can walk in now. They changed it so that you can walk in from the lake canyon gate at lake 5.

I've been walking in for the past 3 weeks. Walk-ins are allowed.

You can walk in. I did on Sunday. Should have driven in - didn't know it is only $4 - ended up walking 2.6 miles between getting the permit at the drive-in gate, leaving, coming back, various fishing spots.
