1st Train In last train out.
Started the day out in back of Hauser where we have been seeing wolf packs here and there. Fishing at O dark thirty we got nothing which was strange. We were chasing a topwater bite and we were thinking it was not going to happen. Almost giving up and we were about to go pitching we saw a disturbance in the force in the middle of coots 75 yards away. Am I seeing things or is is actually a wolf pack. It was wolves.

Walking baits, underspins, and crank baits for the next 9.5 hrs. Crazy day for us. 1st time my arms actually got tired at Barrett.

Respectable 19 lb limit on topwater.

Topwater slowed in evening and after having an epic day with your son I told him I want our walk off to be a double hook up.

Well we got it. 4.4 and a 3.7 to end the day. I told him no more casting. As far as numbers we had 75+ fish on topwater (1st time breaking two baits in one day), 1 dropshot fish and for boat total I won’t say because no video evidence but the five boats that came in on us was our witness. . Thanks Barrett lake for producing. Staff we love you. Till next year or duck opener.

    P.S.

    You guys had it wired.
I watched you personally catch 30 -40 fish, same for your son. He’s spoiled for sure.
It took us a while to figure out that we had to cast on their heads. But we figured it out. And we were in that little Cove on the right in the dark and we thought the same thing. We started fishing plastics And had a few and came around that corner and there you guys were and we saw those boils too. Group Fishing at its finest. Your son and you were having a blast. Very cool

Well done!!! We gambled and lost, we did not head into the back until it was too late. When we got there it was already packed with 6 boats right on top of each other. I knew what was going on but decided to back out. Until next year.

Fishing sounds great and the smiles verify that.

I believe you are saying you actually saw wolves at Barrett? IF so, you would be one of very few in the entire state and need to notify the CDFW. Wolves were completely removed from California by the early 1930's. The total state population today is only 10-15 with only two packs known...Shasta and Lassen.
