Hey guys! New to the page! Thank you to whomever accepted my request, I have learned a lot from each of you and I thank you guys for that.

Just thought I would say Hello and if it is okay with you all of you! id like to share my last 3 Saturdays out on the water.

Pretty good Saturdays out on the water. Dropped my phone off my kayak & now the fishes have something to play with down there lol.

10/10 went out around 5:45 am with a buddy of mine.

it was hot right off the bat, first cast, first everything, caught me a legal SBB, 3 other SBB not legal though. 3 Barracudas, 1 shovel head shark. a small i have no idea what type of shark. 1 sting ray. and alot of mackerel!

10/16 I went out again around the same time and slower for sure, caught a SBB nothing crazy, and of course a lot of mackerel!

& 10/24 I went out both the morning and night time.

The morning was slow at first. Caught a 12 inch SBB, a sculpin and a I focused on bait for lobster after that, so i ended up catching about 10-12 mackerel

went out that night around 8pm - 12 am with hoop nets ready, came up dry on the lobster. but did manage a pretty decent sand bass and a dink spotty. My buddy hooked up to something big, was getting pulled on the yak. ended up losing it. all in all a great day on the water this month.

I appreciate you guys taking the time to read this! Phone is still in the bay somewhere so ill be taking my go pro from now on instead. Silly me, wish I had more pictures but here yall go!

Work on those fillet skills. I like egg wash and potato flakes for crunch on mine... Nice fish there. Phones and kayak fishing don't mix well at times...

One of my favorites. I'm a simple man and my filleting skills are just terrible. I prefer to just cut off their fins, gut and gill and fry them whole. Make a Thai seafood dipping sauce and eat with rice.

Use some shears to cut off the spines before filleting. They also have spines along the side of their head. Use a towel to hold the fish while you cut

Yes, definitely give them a haircut before cleaning them.. it can be done without, but it’s a bit sketchy if you don’t do it a lot ( I do them, but it’s never a comfortable feeling whist doing it ). I’ve had them try to jab my hand with their forehead ( lots of spikes ) while trying to take the hook out thumbing them. The bigger ones will do this.. I got tagged by a forehead spike but it barely did not pierce the skin. Lol. They’ll getcha !! Lol.

no not really like u said don't change it if its working. Alot of fishing is confidence, and if u have confidence in that grub stick with it. If u want to look into some new baits tho look at warbaits heads/underspin with like 3 inch swimbaits and hookupbaits/ carpkiller tubes.

yes you can buy them online on his website. warbaits.com or tackle warehouse. they also carry them at Dana landing, and I'm sure some other shops but that's the only one i know of the top of my head. do you know what size you want? are u just gonna be using them in the bay?
