Went down south in the big bay in the morning hoping for some sharks and rays. Wound up with two good size shovelnose and the biggest bat ray I've ever seen. Both shovelnose took full squid and the bat took a live mackerel that I got throwing a lure. All three bit right after the AM tide swing.
The shovelnose came in at 40" and 32". The bat measured 46" wing tip to wing tip.First time I've ever seen a ray take a live bait and that thing ran like hell. Anyone have any idea how much a bat ray of that size would weigh? 95216072-9CE2-4440-B244-9DBDFEC0A55A.JPG IMG_0227.jpeg E7C61148-B29E-4071-B5C8-58A53287F2B1.JPG D9BA6077-9279-49A8-9845-C303D86E3DAB.JPG IMG_0193.jpeg IMG_0194.jpeg

Id say over 80-85b+. The things a freight train fer sure. The charts I’ve looked at are data charts from people whom I know sling weight there’s so it seems pretty viable to me.
