Fished live smelt from 2pm-7pm. The bait has been pretty small lately(which I personally dont like) Haven't fished much because college started up again. Fished harbor island and Spanish landing. Caught 5 round stingrays, 1 butterfly ray, 4 short halibut, a banded guitarfish, a yellowfin croaker, a mackerel and a few spotties. Pretty good day overall. I wish people on jetskis actually used their brains and didn't drive right up where you're fishing. A few weeks ago I saw someone actually stuck on the rocks at HI on a jet ski.

There are a bunch of small Halibut in the Bay right now! Bodes well for the future!

Nice outing. Those jet skis, though...

As soon as you sit down on a jet ski, your IQ goes down about 50 points and your courtesy stays at the dock. Some of us don’t have a point to spare!

Wow, I'm never getting near one of those things! From what I see on the highways a lot of people have been spending way too much time on them!

Last week, had one guy doing laps right in front of us going full throttle, u turn come back, each time trying real hard to do as weaving moves towards the shore line about 20 yards out. Took all I had to not throw a huge sinker and get some 65# braid tight for him to run into. Ended up packing up.... Pretty much the same spot youre at.

    Nice report Nick,
Your exactly right about the tourists on jetskis for most of them its their first time ever on one. There are 2 rental companies located in the harbor and many times those idiots are doing 50 mph right after they were just informed exactly where the 5 mph zones are.
I used leftover live sardines a couple of weeks ago from a failed offshore trip in the bay and 5-6" live sardines were irresistible to spotties. I hadn't used live bait in the bay since probably the late 70's/early 80's with my dad, and I forgot how easy it was.
