Went out at 6am to practice casting with baitcaster for the first time. threw the spoon for a few hours and was getting hit on the drop, while popping the jig and on fast retrieve on top. Caught my first barracuda then proceeded to catch 4-5 right after. a few macks were caught between too and they were some of the biggest macks I've seen in the bay. plenty of birds nests of course but definitely a day to remember.

yea i wanted to keep some of the bigger ones but I honestly wasn't expecting to hook up on much. Just wanted to get in a little practice before work but ended up being a productive morning. I don't think anyone at work wants me throwing a bag of macks in our communal fridge haha

    LoL - I've been there
Bonie and Mack bite at OB Pier during lunch. I was content just tossing the jig...

Had to pop into the Rite Aid on Niagara to get some jenky plastic party beverage buckets for a dollar or two to keep them on ice - LoL

One of those dollar store cooler bags with a frozen one gallon jug or two in it works pretty well. Just toss it in a bucket or rubbermaid bin and pile a couple thick towels on. Fairly simple and cheap

ignorant non-fishers, I guess....or anyone who doesn’t enjoy a wall of fishy scent barreling out at them from inside the fridge.
