    0600 to 0815am
    Low tide at 0700ish
    Sunrise at 0700ish
06 to 07: dark, chilly, no wind, no bites.
07 to 0815: light, less chilly, no wind, calm glassy water. Hand full of spotties and a seagull(flew into my line during cast)
1 spotty on a silver 3 piece lure with good swimming action(storm swimmin stick from Walmart. It looked good to me on the shelf)
Saw a few boils so I threw the deep diving crank which secured me 5 spotties. Largest going 16inches.
The seagull flew into my line as I threw out a luckycraft. Landed the bird on the dock but my lure was still somewhere in the water and I wasn’t going to lose it. I made sure I got my lure back before setting the bird free.
Another post said that there is barracuda all over the place there but I didn’t see any.
Anyway, get out there and get some.

Currently my favorite way to catch spotties. Cranks are so much fun

    Wire leader? That’s heavy duty!

(sniff) everyone knows you can't use steel leaders on crankbaits because it ruins the action and the fish won't bite....

I use wire leader because I’ve lost a lot of lures in this area from barracudas. I’ve caught many spotties and cudas with the wire leader. I wonder if my hook ups would increase without the leader.
