No but for more casting distance you can't beat it. No way would I try to spool a reel and cast it with 100lb mono. I use a 10 foot rub leader of it. You need wire leaders also.

Based on the weedballs we haul in that doesn't apply.

    Joshj123,
Check you PM's I sent you a cheat sheet that will help you with alot of the info you need about setting up for S&R fishing. It's pretty much all I do. Shoot me any questions you may have but the Fish whisperer hands down is Coach. It was good fishing with you the other night Coach, had a good time despite wearing the stripe lol I'm going out tonight to give it a shot, water temp down to 68 its cooling off a bit should help. Tight lines to you all

    Hey Joshj123,
I shot you a PM that will help answer alot of your questions plus a bunch of other info that will get you on the right track. S&R fishing is pretty much all I do. Around here the Fish Whisperer is Coach the man know his Fish. Wad great fishing with you Coach the other night even though I ended up wearing the stripe. I'm headed out tonight water temp coming down a couple degrees should help. I've got an extra conventional setup Joshj123 if your want to borrow it and try it out. Tight lines all

Bear6813 is the man, straight up.. listen to him. I mean, yeah, for the smaller bay rays, no prob, with the spinning gear.. for beach sharks, the world is a different place...
