4652F9DC-4212-4D3C-80E3-77A4F5300A37.jpeg Got some small perch yesterday at the jetty, brought them over to the surf for some sharky sharks. Got to the water near peak and fished the outgoing. First the water wasn't moving out quickly and there was little action. When the water rly started to head out I got bit back to back to back. First one was something incredibly heavy. I was just standing there holding on to my rod praying that he would stay on. Wanted to work out my biceps so tighted the drag down a little more and pop. The steel leader coach gave me last time some how snapped. And it was a very clean snap too so no idea how it happened. Def not throwing shade at coach lol but just at awe at how powerful the first fish was. Re rigged and casted out. Put the rod down to tell my friends how insane in the membrane the first fish was and not even a minute in drag singing again. Ended up being a small guy around 4 and 1/2 feet. Threw him back, put another perch and casted out. Just got my phone out and zzzzzzzzzzzzz again. This time a bit bigger, thrashing and darting left and right. Ended up being around 60inchs. Fun fun. Ran out of perch at this point so I put a salema on but didn't get any action for 10-15 mins and called it. Don't know if it's bc of the tides or that they don't like salemas but man I tell u perch is like fried eggs for leopard sharks if instead of yoke the egg just had cocaine in the middle(actually idk if that would even be desirable I don't do drugs lol).

Btw here are some ominous fish pics for u powaynubs

Agreed coach, just rly don't wanna deal with backlashes so I have been hesitant about getting conventional reel. Aah might have to strap my balls back on in the future and learn how to use it
