Dixon and poway both have clear water, kids often have fun watching bluegills come up to pick at their baits. Fish any of the docks with redworms, hotdog pieces, mealworms, nightcrawler pieces, etc

Morena for carp and cats.. might be 40:1 carp to cats, but the little ones will be entertained. Great bass lake too

Poway seems more popular on this board for catfish, but Dixon does stock them too. I'm not as familiar with the other lakes but I believe Wohlford--another north county reservoir--also has good numbers of catfish.

If you are targeting catfish from shore, I would recommend a lake with dirty water. Lake Morena would be my first choice and Wholford would be second. Both lakes have catfish that reproduce. So there will be lots of small fish to catch all day long.

For bluegill, you will want to fish a clear water lake. All you need to do is get a pair of polarized glasses and walk around the shoreline until you find the bluegill. Don't fish for them until you find them. Lake Jennings and Poway would be good places to try.

    Good Luck!
