This was a first for me!!!!! Never done the bait n wait for sharks n rays so apparently I've topped out in the smooth hound department. I think I'm hooked!!!! Got her early in the session, the 1st hour, so all of us we're standing around chewing the fat, n my clicker starts screaming.....I'm on. Pulled some drag too....got the heart pumping for sure. Big strip of Skipjack left over from lobster season thanks to geofish cleaning the freezer....lol. Now Im gonna take the fam.....build a fire...soak some bait!!!

I love the chance to see and chat with my fellow anglers. I think I am going back after the NASCAR race. Should I chum with sharks and rays?

You'll need to thank me for that. You caught that because I left. Curse lifted. Your welcome.

I appreciate all of you coming out last night, sounds like we were a couple clicks too far north.... a small fire with no grub, a fishing event with no rod, but plenty of laughs and bs. Would’ve been nicer to have a better turnout but it is what it is. I cant force people to show up. Congrats to Rokbury14 on the nice smoothy, and his new addiction.

Chum = Feeding the seagulls. Grrrr....

When I got to my fishing spot today there were people standing there FEEDING the seagulls! Damn things were everywhere. I was sure I was going to get pooped on too. Couldn't help myself - I gave them a look like, REALLY?? It worked because they moved along. I wish the seagulls would have gone with them. Flys with feathers.

Yes both, I’ve fished vacation island but the current is always strong. Caught 1 leopard but nothing since. Is this fiesta island? I’ve tried there too but never any luck, can’t find the right spot.

Keep moving and chum. This is typically the time of year targeting them gets more difficult, leading into summer... When the weather cools again, you will be in the money

They were fishing De Anza Cove directly across from the point. There is a beach with a railing right next to it. It’s the Far East side of the Cove.

You want strong current my friend. I usually fish anywhere from 3-5 oz of weight, vacation island south end either side of the bridge along the channel, East side of Bahia hotel casting straight out towards vacation island about 1/2:way out the peninsula.

40" a respectable mud marlin my friend very well done. I have tomorrow off so I will be around the bay tonight stalking the elusive mud marlin. Just made some fresh Mack's as I left work. That's one good thing about a floating drydock lol it attacks a kinds of fish. Used your Gatorade bottle Coach and couple #6 gold Aberdeen hooks and some fresh piling mussel took about 15 minutes to get 4 of the slimy green things
