Another one bites the dust. I won't be able to attend tomorrow. Enjoy and I'll see you for the next round.

Ok so there was a total of 8 of us who showed up to the finale and toughed out the cold air and wind. 41 degrees at sign in time.
Fishing was shyt for the most part. But by the end of the session, good company and good grub made up for it. Thank you to those of you who made it out and brought the grub/drinks/grill.
Striker115 win the session contest with an 11.5" spotty and collected three items(including his own). That was our smallest session grab bag ever.
So for the seasonal results, here are how things turned out:
    LONGEST BASS
    1st - Striker115 19 3/4"
    Tie 2nd - sargo and Werfless 16 3/4"

    SMALLEST BASS
    1st - Cyborgstarfish 5 11/16"
    Tie 2nd - Cyborgstarfish and sargo 6"

    LONGEST YELLOWFIN CROAKER
    1st - Rokbury14 10"
    2nd - aquaman10293 9"

So, there were a couple of issues regarding measured fish. These were issues on both sides of the spectrum, the tape, and my eyes.
In the rules I state that my eyes are the only judge so tape as accurately as possible to help my judging be as accurate as possible. During this season, three qualifying fish weren't measured as accurately as they could've been and ended up raising a few questions via pm's. First of all, it's my fault for assuming everyone measured correctly and just looking at the measured end of the tape. This ended up short changing one guy because the front of the tape started on the inside of the fish instead of at the end. It also knocked two guys backwards because their tape started outside the end of the fish. Like I said, my fault for paying attention to the money side. It was brought to my attention, and I went in and did some technical computerized detective work and came up with the more accurate results.
In the end, ties for second place on the biggest and smallest bass contests were the result, splitting second and third place winnings.

I'd like to keep this as fun as possible, and to not have to worry about a 1/16th of an inch. But if that's what I have to do, then I guess I'll need to bring my laptop with me from now on and do the technical work each time a challenging photo comes in. I will do better at reading more accurate taped shots now that I found out nobody's perfect lol, just be sure to try to be as accurate as possible on the Fisherman's side as well.

On that happy note, a new season begins next month. Along with the new season comes a brand new halibut contest! I am working on this years T-shirts also so I will be showing off a rough draft shirt design in a couple days. Don't forget about next weekends tiny rod surf session, that should be a blast!!!
