My dad came down so we had to go fishing of course here are the results.

Those are huge for DFG fish! Nicely done. I miss the days of going to CSUSB and fishing Silverwood and Cleghorn.
Dry nice it’s been over thirty years since I’ve been there, ( went for the stripers at the inlet ) Great Lake nice to it produce some nice Trout. Your dad looks awfully young but he sure looks happy

Do you know what DFW hatchery they came from. I sure don't see them that big at the Mojave River hatchery where Silverwood gets it's trout from?
Black Rock diploids.
They bring them all the way down from the Eastern Sierra's? Now I know what trploids are but what is a diploid?
Diploids are xx or xy like these large broodstock that were trucked down to Silverwood
Yeah a general thing. How do we not know they are private hatchery trout?
Keep in mind you are talking to a state fisheries biologist.. Pretty damn sure he knows his business
