Anyone get word in if we can fish from shore after Newsomes announcements?
Seriously don’t see why not if they’re opening up retail stores (with restrictions).

To avoid seeming too sedentary I say we all go to the beach and jog up and down the sand while casting our lines out. Let's see them try to argue with that one!

Still up to County and City authorities to make decisions.

Phase 2 is not an instant thing where everything happens at once. Direction from Sacramento allows Counties and cities to start relaxing some restrictions as they deem appropriate.

I do recall seeing plans of the phases Early April and correct me if I’m wrong, but phase 1 was easing restrictions on exercise, phase 2 was to include fishing, parks, boating etc. It’s all ever changing so it’s hard to trust what they say anymore

Basically true, but transition to all aspects of each phase is not intended as a discrete and instantaneous event like Tony Stark snapping his fingers.

All I know for certain is that within my business environment each phase is expected to take months from initiation to meeting all the goals of that phase.

We will just have to see how things roll with the Port, County, and local cities starting tomorrow.

It should be a snap of the fingers as they have the ability to close whatever they want whenever they want. But when it comes to reopening, it’s up to someone else. Some BS.

I don’t disagree with your comment at all, I think I’m just frustrated with all this. Think I finally hit my point... but oh well I’ll get over it. They’re opening up areas for people to hang out, with distancing for course, yet we can’t fish. People can golf, we can’t fish.

Maybe we should all do this. But, truthfully not sure I'd like to lose a good pole and chair.

    FWIW,
Obviously from what it looks like, there is no plan and they’re not sticking to implementations they are making. Was just told that rules are literally changing daily. One day fishing could be allowable, the next day not permissible.

Most of you probably know that, but whatever. We could hear tomorrow shore fishing is fine, and come Monday they say we can’t...

Done with my rant. Sorry if You’re getting annoyed of my posts.

You can't cast, run, and troll with a chair, just saying....

Talked to a lifeguard at the beach at Tamarack today. All state beaches are still closed to surf fishing but he wasn't sure about the 1 mile of Carlsbad city beach. He couldn't speak for Encinitas either. He even said he wished was fishing too and this is all bogus. Encinitas opened the beach access stairs this weekend. Any intel on Stone Steps, Grandview etc?

This seems odd - SD port authority and City of Coronado say shore fishing is allowed.

Also why in the world would anyone prohibit metal detecting? It's something that people typically do solo since they wear headphones to listen to the detection signal and because they don't want to share any spoils.

Yeah, pretty sure they are all lepers or something. Good thing they have those “social-distancing” sticks with them most of the time.
