I got quoted 2600 and 3000 foe the different hulls. I was wondering about there seaworthiness, this would be a second boat for me used in lakes and also occasionally across California. I would only go out on good days and the largest run I intend on doing would be from Pt. Loma to Coronado. I intend on a move to south Florida in a few years, how do you think they would perform there. I would frequently go offshore 2-8 miles when weather permits. I see people in kayaks fishing offshore all the time and I don't really think it is too far out there to fish with 2 people in this thing nearshore and offshore. it looks to me like the 17 may be more seaworthy because the sides appear to be higher but I don't really know, I'm pretty knew to owning boats. I was going to try to order one in the next few weeks and I would like some direction on which you think would be more seaworthy.

    Thanks

What are the numbers on the boats? Transom height, side and beam. Are those prices for the boat, motor and trailer? Or just the bare hull shipped to California. Thinking it's the latter.
Edit : Looked up that first picture. That panga looks nice.

The width is like 5.6ft roughly, I think the transom is 20 inches but I am not certain as my Spanish isn’t great. I couldn’t find the bow or side height though I did find a few pictures of it on land.2600 for bare hull in TJ. It’s like 60$ to import after that

I was told different things from many people, I think I may go with the shorter one due to the higher sides and lower hp though

Yeah the first model is actually used as fly fishing flats boat for tarpon. Looked up tarpon city and saw the guides they offer.

Make sure to get manufactures statement of origin and hull ID papers . The dmv will want a full list for the inspection . Check with your insurance company to see if they will cover a boat without US coast guard certification . It might be that the manufacturer provides that as well . Check with Customs to see what they will need to get it into the US and have that list ready at the border . Always thought the timeless design of the Panga was cool . Good luck .WR

Agreed.. I’ve seen those pangas out fishing every day up and down Baja coastline and those boats are beasts.. very stable and built tough. I’d go with the panga, given the choice. More room as well.
