Solana Beach Corbina

    Fished just south of the Seaside Reef (Cardiff) in Solana Beach. The Reef wraps around from North, out about 150yds, then South and creates a feeding frenzy as the tide comes up. Corbina visible in the shallows - caught 2 and broke one off in about 30 minutes.

    If anyone wants to join, I'll show you the secret spot in exchange for learning some skills!

    Thanks for the report. I always fish with a loose drag. You can always tighten it up to match the fish you're fighting. Use your rod to control the fish, and reel steady. Let the fish take runs and enjoy it!! Hard grinding on your reel is not always the best option. Finesse the fish in by lifting your rod tip then wind down and reel in the slack...
