I had one of my best carpin days ever recently! I've caught lots of carp much bigger than these on fly, but most of those fish I had to stalk for 2-4 days before getting bit and they ran months or years in between. I have also had a couple multi fish days, but those fish were a smaller grade. I've never had a multi fish day of nicer fish until now.

All 4 fish had to be cast to. All 4 fish reacted with a blatant, violent strike. Very visual, very exciting! The first fish ate my fly on the sink. All 4 fish fought forever and tried to break me off in the sticks like crazy. I'm amazed I landed all 4 c1.jpg c2.jpg c3.jpg c3m.jpg c4.jpg cf.jpg (7lb test.) (6wt)

Ok, that will be its third one. Jim Edwards gave me that reel and i had never even met him at the time. Thats how we met. My wife caught her WR leopard shark on the reel too.

Great pictures. Would be interesting to go back, maybe in September, and see if that bluegill is still sitting there. Poor fish is doomed.

I went back to Sweetwater today, to see if I could get any more carp on the fliz. I could not. I spent most of the day stalking. I saw some fish and made a lot of perfect cast, but never got bit. The magic sky that caused them to bite a few weeks ago wasn't with me today.

Having only 1 day off a week forces you to plan your adventures wisely. I brought a B plan. I had about 90 minutes or so to kill, so I went for a spinnerbait walk. BOOM!

    Here's the cropped out shot.
004.PNG Fisheromen, you may have noticed i haven't installed your handle on that reel yet. I tried, the retainer cap hole is in the wrong place. I have to drill and tap it first. I really need it too. the rubber on the handle pad is so rotten, it makes a sticky residue all over your thumb and screws up your line thumbing really bad. That's why i put tape on it, but the tape gets sweaty and comes off. I'll probably do it today. Thanks again
