Tubed in front of the cays this morning from 4:30 am - 11. I actually really ventured out further than I thought I would, prolly more than 1/2 mile out into the bay since there was basically no boat traffic early on. Caught about 20 spotties. All on spinnerbaits since there was so much eel grass and I didn’t have any weed less jigheads. No pics since none of them were really pic worthy. Woulda caught more but I really tried to catch some vinas for a couple hours throwing spooks/ LC 110. But I wasn’t successful. I’m really in a vina drought I haven’t even been able to hook one up this year I have no idea why and ive seen reports of people catching them lately. They’ve really been eluding me and I’m starting to get frustrated hahahha. Anyways it was a solid outting I’d say

I was in that area last week, I didn’t see any signs of corvina either. Did you try any rip baits?

I fish from a 15 ft inflatable, so I am usually not right on shore. I see so many shore guys getting them, maybe I should try closer to the beach.

Maybe they’re keyd on smaller bait? Idk. I usually go with straight artificiales but I think I’ll try some smelt from the tube tomorrow morning. Imma try a bobber and 5’ then a smelt so I don’t catch rays and such haha. Never fished a bobber in saltwater other than for opeleye. Imma see how it goes.

You might consider a water bottle.

I dont think the corvina are there as thick as they were a few weeks ago. They are being caught in more locations across the entire bay now.
