Headed up to lake poway this morning. Not a super early start but I’m okay with that. Caught my first fish about 30 min into the day. Surprised to see that the bass are still on beds! And not just a couple, all over the lake! The rest of the day was slow for me, I struggled with keeping my boat in place long enough to work a bed. Helped a “new friend” out by taking a picture of him with his new PB, a 8lb momma caught off a bed on a drop shot.( PS if you’re on here, comment below!) Once the sun was out I saw some big ones chasing fry along the shore and near the weeds. My (about) 3 pounder was my only fish of the day. Beautiful day with some sunshine was definitely worth it. Tight lines everyone!

Especially given the water temp is not even a solid 70.

Otay spawn went off with the full moon two weeks ago, some tiny fry around as well. Bite is still really slow though.

Update on poway, wow how things change, still some bedding fish out there but they’re heavily pressured, thousands of fry and grass along the shore. Threw the kitchen sink at em today, not a single bite
