This week has been sensational for catching the Spotted Bay Bass. All caught on the drop shot using the Berkley Swimming Mullet 4" chartreuse 6 to 8" above an 1 1/2 OZ torpedo sinker. I caught about 90 of them in 3 sessions. There were some decent sized Spotty's mixed in with the usual small ones. A couple of the big ones were actually pulling some drag. I hope I can post some photos using Dropbox and not Drop shot haha. I was in hopes with catching a legal halibut but the bass were certainly crowding their spots. Looking forward to some more trips out to the bay. Robo

Nope but I did catch 3 or 4 baby barracuda though they kind of look like a lizard but more colorful. The tide and wind are looking good for tomorrow morning.

Thanks sorry about the shore most of the Spotty's were deep 30' to 50'. I met a guy trying the little beach next to the boat ramp who had terrible luck from shore. It does drop off deep by the moored sail boats. Tight lines.

Found them shallow this morning. Quantity was there but quality was garbage.

I got 22 more still deep on the edge of the channel Nada on the Navy side. Off the bay until end of the month high tides. I might just have to break down and buy some live bait at the barge for my Hobie tank. Do you have any idea how much they charge for a Kayak scoop?

I got 15 in less then 8ft. I quite because my reel failed. The bass where chewing I had no 2drag to stop them. However I unloaded my gear and the drag worked fine

I had a new reel I bought on Ebay that did that out of the box. The bite died off around 10 a.m and the weekend boat traffic started getting busy so I headed in and there was a huge sea lion guarding the entrance Of the SI boat ramp. After he gave me the once over he let me by.
