    I retired in November 2012.
Best part is that you can do whatever you want when you want. Not trying to get things done just on the weekends.
Enjoy it when the time gets there to retire.

Same cartoon applied in 2016 for the Repubs. I'm old enough to say I'd never seen a circus with as many clowns like that, now The Dems have out done it.

I feel sorry for poor folks in Iowa with candidates everywhere. If you hate political ads everywhere imagine how much those poor saps get hit with.

After retirement I never looked back.
As long as you have something to do with your time you won't have a problem. Unless your work was the only reason for your existence. LOL
Hardest part for me was automatically waking up at 4 30am every morning.
It took awhile to get out of that mode.

What funds did you focus on when contributing? Happen to know any of the ticker symbols?

When I was working the company used T Rowe Price. I started with high risk stock to max my money then then went with lower risk towards the end of my working years. Towards the end of my career I put in the max percentage that the company would allow. It's easier when you are older and the kids have left home.
I didn't do this on my own, I have a good financial advisor that set everything up for me.
I don't know about the symbols.
When I retired he switched everything over to American Funds, I'm in stocks, bonds, and money market for a balance.

Lol.. look, there is no such thing as an infinite economic upturn, we know this. Personally, I think it's somewhat overdue already, how much longer can the big money put it off? Probably until at least the next election or so, if I had to guess. And then what? Interest rates are already so damn low, it isn't like they are going to be able to slash them to slow the recession when it happens. When I hear conservative think tank guys making "jokes" about gold stocks during podcasts and in public interviews, you tell me what it means? Whether you think it will be one week or seven years (damn unlikely, IMO), the economic winter is coming, like it or not... And this one seems like it could be downright ugly. No crystal ball, just some common sense...

Thanks for the info. I personally watch and manage my own accts. After being told to "just pick any of them, they're all the same" when setting my up acct I knew then I needed to do my own reseach and watch over my money. As of right now I'm on the sidelines with my money sitting idle in a plus fund. When the "dip" comes I'll make my move on a few tech funds I dabble in.

Dont agree coach as they have been saying it for years now that its coming...
There has been some corrections & that's been good & growth continues.
And how long have you been sitting idle on the sidelines???
The crash in 2008 & dollar cost averaging did me good.....made my accounts stronger!
I dont only have one but 2 finacial advisers & none of them are telling me to bail out for the time being & they know my plan is to not wait till 62.....
Combination of all my accounts grew $20k just this month & that wouldn't have happened sitting on the side-lines...
