Fished Stonesteps Encinitas for about 90 minutes immediately after the afternoon low. Water was pleasantly warm, clear, and salad-free but the surf and strong northbound current made for poor conditions. Used a 1-oz c-rig (plenty of sand crabs btw) but the current took my line parallel to the beach nearly immediately so I moved to a 2-oz rig. Kept my bait more manageable but still a hassle. Few swimmers out and they too were pulled north quickly. Never saw current that strong before today. Have a great week.

Those strong long shore currents will dig some new soft structure . Thanks for the report . Looks like in a few days the wind and weather will be out of the N , NW , hope we don't see another temp drop like earlier this month , Tight line . WR
