Life has been coming at me full speed this spring, and I have had very little control over my schedule. Busy week this week, and next week looks just as bad, but I saw an opportunity this morning. I normally don't like to go on Friday, but today was my only chance. Not as busy as I expected with less than 10 boats out by 6:30. I caught 36 bluegill and redear today and that doesn't include the 4 bass that tried to crash the party. It was a good grade of fish with most about the same size. They are still out at about 23 feet deep. All caught on my usual offering of pinched night crawlers. I kept 6 today instead of my usual 3, because I wasn't sure when I could get back out. I took quite a few pictures, but like the fish, they all looked about the same, so here is a sampling.

I like the colors of this one. It shows off the coppernose strain.
    upload_2021-4-23_15-14-36.jpeg

    Different version of coppernose.

For those who keep up with such things, a 12 inch bluegill fits the definition of a dinner plate size bluegill.

    A 14 inch redear overflows a bit.
    upload_2021-4-23_15-24-40.jpeg

And finally the ice chest shot of the 6 I kept.

Thanks. I like them better than bass.

Just for the record, there were actually 7 in the ice chest. I kept one more than I planned.

True dinner plate sized panfish , anyone would love to get into those ! Trophies indeed , if they weighed 10 lbs they would be really tough to get to the boat . Thanks for the report and photos . WR

Thanks. Yes, they do pull hard. I had to give up trying to use 6# ultralight tackle, because I couldn't control them enough to keep them out of the brush. I have to use an 8# drop shot rig.

Yum, yum and more yum! You had a great day Larry!! I've never eaten a bass, but Bluegills are VERY tasty tsugg If the bass fishing is slow I might have to try some of those pinched worms. Thanks for the report! Those are some big panfish!

Those red-ears have a bad-azz attitude when they're around their nests! Caught a bunch once throwing a shad rap!
