We needed a change, so off to el cap we went. I fished it 45 yrs ago! But could barely remember it. Wow! What a great place to fish! ( even though we both got the stripe) we’ll be back there real soon. The garmin echomap looked like a simulation all day with fish all over it,but we couldn’t find any love.
So can anyone who fishes it give us any pointers? Not your spots or that stuff, just maybe what baits seem to work better than others. Thanks in advance .

Not my place to say, that lake has long been considered a blade lake though..

El cap is a great blade lake. Cranks as well. Truly its a lake that can be fished several ways from the type of structure. That in itself can be a little hard just from having so many options. My buddy loves to Carolina rig fish El cap.

Everyone has that specific confidence bait that usually works well majority of the time at that specific lake, Carolina rigged green pumpkin redflake zoom lizards is that EL Cap bait, wouldn't even think about fishing it at my other lake.....

C-rig green pumpkin brush hogs and go small when they're eating topwater out over deep water!

Neko rigged green pumpkin Senko worked shallow and deep (15-20 feet). the only bait that showed me the love....
very lite tap for every fish. none were hit on the fall but hits came after the first or second twitch.

My favorite rig in the world with a couple differences: 1. I use a 5 or 6" Yum Dinger. 2. Absolute favorite color is Watermelon Seed.

Same worm weightless is my second fav!
