fishing was hard today. Wind was up. Couldn’t find a real pattern. I ended my day with 19 bass. My buddy had 6. Biggest 4.7.

Good. I haven't been out in a few weeks. With the quality up and the lake up I am hoping we get to experience some of those WTFO wolf pack bites. A few know what im talking about. I normally dont chase them at Barrett because #1: it's tough in a tube. #2 they are usually schoolie size. However, Barrett has had some of the most ridiculous wolf pack bites I have ever experienced. Ridiculous amounts of fish and non stop action. No one could pass that up. But I have only seen that a handful of times at Barrett and once way back at San V. It's like every bass in the lake is chasing shad in a 100 yard by 100 yard section. One time we were on the point to pigs and we saw them come up by the dock.. and I kid you not, they slowly came our way and gave about a dozen of us the most epic non stop action for almost 2 hours. ****.. I gotta get back to work. Cheers!

We were looking for the wolfpacks last Wednesday. It never really consolidated into a frenzy but there are definitely roamers hitting shad in the zone about 50-75 feet off the bank. They would hit a time or two and disappear once we turned around to cast at them. We were definitely paying attention because those bites, if you catch ‘em, can be epic!

We caught most of our fish Saturday on breaking fish in Hauser. But not the wolfpack action toolbox referrers to. Just loosely gathered small groups of fish.
Ive seen it so good that we just sat and casted into boils for hours getting bit on every cast. One time I was graphing schools of shad with bass going thru them and just caught the crap out of them. We would troll and get stopped, look at the meter and if there was a bait school, we would just start casting, letting the jig just sink down to the bite zone. Almost like fishing yellowfin

Nice day man. Also a nice almost 5 pounder. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think you should get fish grips for weighing the fish. Punching a hole in the bottom of the mouth at Barrett might get you into trouble. If you are not allowed to use barbed hooks, then I am sure they would not be happy about punching a much larger hole under the mouth. I may be wrong, but I am just using simple logic since they really are pretty crazy about protecting those fish from any unnecessary damage. You can pick up fish grips for a few bucks and then just deduct the weigh when you weight the fish.
