I always wondered how to get those lightweight lures out far enough to do any good.

idk exactly why it broke off but it did. I literally spooled my line probably 2 outings before. I might have gotten one or two birds nest before I lost that LC a few days prior.

OK, now I get it with the funny icons.
I ment stripers, took me awhile to figure that out. Funny how you can look at something and not see the mistakes.

Amazingly, I was there again on Tuesday morning and saw another fisherman catch one (maybe 19" or so)... he was so excited, he picked it up and promptly dropped it and it swam into the roiling waves... i felt bad for him since it is such a rare catch.

Limit is 2 from the ocean and 10 in the IV on stripers.

If you can find them of course.

We are having a pretty severe intrusion of cold water from the north at the moment isolating the inner from outer banks... Actually, accoeding to the powers that be, it is getting less severe by the moment... Hard to say, looks like the offshore and shark forecast could go full blown if the trend continues. ..

All i got to say is that if you catch one, even if its legal size, throw it back so that they continue to show up in the area. They will thrive in these waters given the chance and if they can find a place to spawn.

I guess I don't have much love for invasive species.. Never saw why they protect LMB, turtles, striper, wild turkeys etc, when none are native to CA (changed their minds about the turtles just a few years ago, well after the problem was out of control)... Like our environment needs more pressure as it is. I see your point though. People have passions about all the animals I just listed and many more, I just have a different perspective. ..
