Grossmont Wal-Mart has ONE 8'6" Okuma SST marked at 27 bucks and change. These usually sell for 80 bucks. Excellent action..balances well w a 2000 or 2500 sized reel. Woulda bought it but I already got two of em...when they were marked down a couple years back.
If pink is too butch for ya I dunno what to say...

Edit. It's a DARK pink if that helps. Not neon pink or anything like that because that would be too precious.

Dang, that's a great deal. Somebody snatch that up.

However, here's a screen grab from the photo on the Amazon site. Looks pretty hot pink to me.....

Not that there's anything wrong with that. I mean heck, the fish don't care what color the rod is. Plus, if it really bothered you, there's always spray paint. Of course I could never use a pink rod. I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to pink fishing rods. Soooo, there's that.:emoji_laughing:

I'm going to go check it right now. Do you have any of the line / lure rating?

Darn I was just out that way and planned on checking that Walmart but ran out of time. I don’t care about the color.

20190131_222356.jpg 20190131_222356.jpg 20190131_223354.jpg If anyone wants one of these, new with tags...and your local Walmart hasn't marked 'em down...
I have one of the 8' 6" and one of the 9' models. 25 bucks each or both for 45.
I bought a few of each of these rods when they were marked down a couple years back. Sold some...keeping one of each for my own use. Still have one of each that are new with tags attached.
SST stands for Salmon/STeelhead, these are not noodle rods but the tips are light enough to toss perch-sized c-rigs/lures. The 9 footer balances nicely with a 3000 or 3500 spinning reel for tossing spoons or Lucky Crafts.
Google Okuma SST Ladies Edition for specs..or check back I'll add pics a bit later.
    PM me if you're interested.

Hey Carp, do you still have those pink okuma rods? If so, I’d be interested!

I picked my girlfriend up a combo the other day because she and a friend came out on the Premier with me. The reel I grabbed was a diawa rg (seems to work fine but feels like a Glock when I'm used to a 1911) and okuma sst 9foot 2 piece 15-50 pound rated casting rod. The rod is very sensitive, rockfish couldn't be sneaky enough that day on the number 4 live bait hooks double dropper looped with a 4 oz torpedo. Tight lines

I may have to see what it feels like with my komodo 350 full of 40 pound braid and a four foot piece of 40lb mono for yellowtail.
