Sweetwater and Loveland closed due to fire risk

    This is kind of a curious move, given there are no fires threatening either of those lakes.

    Maybe they want to reduce risk of idiots doing stupid stuff in the bush and ruining the fun for the rest of us? Reoccurring theme in California here. Minority of derolicts ruin it for the rest of us. Super lame.

    They probably use water out of those reservoirs for the planes or helicopter flyovers. They just dont want people out there.

    I don't think that'd be the case for these fires. I think it's more what rustyh said above, but I still think that's ridiculous. Can't close the lakes down every time there are Santa Ana winds and low humidity.

    Both lakes are back open. They cited the red flag warning conditions as the reason they closed the lakes. So stupid.
