Hit Tamarack on my way hone from a meeting for just 30 min. Didn’t even grab all my gear (including tape measure). Always when it happens when you are not prepared. In hindsight this guy is definitely a keeper! But someone on this site told me once, “gotta let the first one of every species go, even if it’s a keeper!” First striped bass! I wear a size 12. So I’m guessing he was about 24”

I had actually gone out this morning before dawn at 530 so that I could try the LC 110 Glow Sexy Smelt and like I said I wasn’t even prepared so just threw that. Interestingly enough I’ve caught most of my halibut on the regular Ghost sexy smelt.

Way to go! Beautiful fish. Last week I went as far as Gaviota in search of my elusive West Coast striper. I came home empty handed though. Nice work.

Nice fish! Don’t pay attention to the haters. Remember: There is no such thing as a secret spot.

If stripers being found in Carlsbad and Oceanside was suppose to be a secret then it was one of the worst kept secrets around. Not sure what the drama is about.

I guess somebody got their skivies in a twist about a striper report then sent some intimidating dm. Kids...

Hey Jordand - congrats on a great catch. Stripers in the salt in SoCal are a special experience. I’m glad you got one.

It’s too bad some people (or maybe just one person) have to threadjack your post and turn it into a rant.

Keep fishing and ignore the noise.

Oh **** a jack azz stirrin up trouble in fishn town! We just goina let him make himself look like a big ol shyt nugget?

why yes we are. Why do people think their so special for fishing a single area and catching a fish that has been caught there before? Also don’t threaten people dude, you don’t know what type of object they have for making you feel pain. You don’t know who they are, what they own, or who their friends are.

Just confused about the beach and lagoon or pier or jetty being a “private unshareable spot”. There have been plenty of fishermen who have led me in the right direction in order to get in fish why not let others give it a shot! I mean all the stripers will be gone by tomorrow anyways
