Wasn't too bad. Seemed like it was filling in pretty hard about the time I left. Feet were damp, that's a common theme for fishing LJ though

Nails are EXTREMELY snag resistant. Used the same one for three or four sessions without loss. If you do lose one, it just rusts away on bottom...

If I ever step on one in the water, I will know who to blame. Up to date on my tetanus vaccination though and tetanus is not likely to be in a saltwater environment anyhow. Certainly no worse than stepping on a stingray.

I suppose you are going to tell me that one will catch just as many fish using nails as fancy tungsten weights?

About $1 each for tungsten: Swagger Tungsten Casting Pencil Drop Shot Weights - Tackle Warehouse

Box of 100 nails for about $4. 25:1 cost ratio sound about right?

I wander around at work a LOT, and snipe wheel weights, nail gun nails, chain sections, rebar, railroad spikes and many more types of objects to use as weight. Nails and chain are by far the most snag resistant, nails in steep rock, and chain in mixed kelp, weeds etc. Ten minutes at lunch I can have several lb of weight ready to go when I need it, from light to heavy, no problem.

I catch my share, those bigger panfish are special to me though, I only get a few big ones a year, if I am doing well...

Very nice opaleye brotha. Gotta love when the last cast yields a fish, let alone a nice one.

Wow Werf, what a beautiful healthy specimen. And of course, the sunset.
    Congratulations & excellent job!

Thank you for posting! It gives us all hope and reminds us of the possibilities.

It's so easy to take things like the power and beauty of our environment and richness of our resource for granted. It's also easy to take for granted our brothers and sisters with whom we share the same passion for the sport, who so generously support, help and encourage us in our pursuit of this sport, or dare I say, lifestyle.
    Thank you Werf & friends!

Nicely done! But that would not be my last cast, it would make me want to stay for awhile. I will always say
    'one more cast', never happens.

jjdbike , that fish bit less than 20 inches from shore, in heavy, nasty grass conditions. Much of life is about making good on what you have to work with, whether a marriage, job etc. Just because conditions are terrible, doesn't mean you can't get something worthwhile if you have the right approach.

Thanks , Midnightpass , appreciate it..

Smokey , I understand that all too well..

Really nice and chunky one! I am ecstatic when I get a bite on the last cast of the session. Feels like a validation that the trip was worthy

Definitely better than ending the session by taking a swig of dish soap water meant to de-shrimp the hands..
Not that I've ever done that...
