Been over 2 years since we took the drive up to... lets just call it "Fisheromen's" Lake! :emoji_wink:

It's been on the radar since Hodges closed and it finally happened last Sunday.

Got up there before the Crack... We (Dave, Ryan & I ) all had stuff to do and had to leave by 10:30 or so. Plus it was going to be hot.

Doing what we do... The first thing I notice was the water color. I've personally never seen the water visibility so good.

Talk about an action packed morning! It didn't take long to get into some. The bass up there were really aggressive. I caught 4 and got broke off on something really nice within the first hour.

Fish was breaking all over the place.

But the Bass is not our target species... So, we left this area and went straight to our favorite Crappie spot and guess what? They was right there waiting for us.

We got into them good! A solid bite until it was time to leave.

I noticed we was catching 3 different class of fish too.. Some pushing 2 pounds. Some just over 1lb and a bunch of dinks. The future looks damn good!

Ryan came down from NorCal... said he was bringing the limits with him. Damn near did.

Tossed a bunch of dinks back. Add a bluegill and 1 catfish and that's a wrap @ 10:30am

Excellent work Roy and team! Thanks for the great report, I've been curious myself regarding the crappie.

Thanks for posting, Roy. I continue to be amazed by your consistency year after year and any time of year. I have to wonder if we will be seeing the bass fishermen up there try those 1/16 oz jigs and 4# test line after you showed them how it could be done.

It's like you was there Larry! :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: The jig color was Tennessee shad with a 1/16 oz white roadrunner.. Couldn't leave it alone.

Preach Roy! Them Slabs bite year round. You just gotta adjust accordingly and pay attention to your fishing depth and techniques.

Gosh those pics sure do look deceiving with the low water as of recently…. Did the water level rise?

Nice job out there. Lake seems to do real good this time of year after the shad spawn l.
