Been fishing here solely since Aug. Best bite for me at the lake in many many years... But like all good things... it come to a close. For the 2019 season at least... So its the last trip for Dave and I. Got there just as the gate opened... On the water and to the track we go! Nothing like a sunrise with rod tips in it... At least for me. While enjoying the view of course we were looking for some action... As its been...it didn't take long. You know Dave got his... and I was getting mines... Today was on the slower side... Water temps have been dropping big time. From the mid 86 in Aug. to like 72 degrees now... But excellent scenery, music & convo... After a couple of hours... Too soon it was time to say goodbye!!! Raiders were on TV for once and we both hurried home just to watch them jokers loose...again. Anywho... Here's today's catch tho... Some extra nice slabs in da mix... These crappies are FAT too. With so much shad in the water I can understand why. Got busy with the fillet knife... A little skin never hurt nobody. Ended up with about 4 lbs of boneless crappies. How much are crappies per pound at the store? lol Ain't no money that can buy whats not available right? I stocked up pretty nicely so I'll be good for a minute... Having "fresh outta the water within 2 hours" Southern style this time... with Baked Mac & Cheese... Bacon Fried Cabbage... Potato Salad. Tartar or Tabasco?
