Sac perch? Never heard of them, just googled it. Up in Crowley lake? wow. I was thinking of heading up to the area sometime this summer too.

Yep. Lake Crowley. It should also be good trout fishing. I am going to come up with a specific date once I have a chance to sit down and check my work schedule for July. If anyone has a specific day that works for them let me know. I like to fish the Sierras during the weekdays not weekends due to the crowds.

You going to fish shore, boat or float tube? Sacramento perch and Crowley on my bucket list. Fished all around it including the Owens ,but not Crowley specifically. I have many watercraft options just need Dr. clearance to use them. Right now Fishcats are my only options. The rest of my navy is in my signature and waiting Dr clearance to use . Don't think I would bring the 19 c/c though

a float tube is a great option, you really need to get off the bank, but with so many things to do in the area ,convict lake, staying in bishop is nice, lots of food choices , stores and lodging, up the hill a few miles is intake two, south lake etc travel light and share a room makes it a cheap trip,

Probably all of the above. Float tube, shore and maybe rent a boat the first day so we can locate the fish. What ever you comfortable in. The more people fishing the better chance of finding the fish.

I was thinking of staying in Bishop. That is where I usually set up base camp. Good food and lots of tackle options.

I’ve only ever went to Lee vining area and above. I am open. I’ll probably camp. Hit Crowley for a few days then head up further

Crowley is on my list as well. I'm interested. Keep me in the loop please.
Capt. you still interested in Golden trout? It could be around the same time depending on flows.

Much better by jeep, just remember I am a newbie only caught sierra trout on wooly buggers and hares ear nymphs so open to all the pointers I can get. Never caught a sierra trout on a dry so that's a goal

Do any of the lakes in the Mammoth area have smallmouth bass?

These are dumb and very hungry fish. They are not trophies by anyone's standards. Just small starving Golden Trout. In the most beautiful forest setting that one could imagine. Hope you don't mind crapping like a bear?
