Anyone going out on the MB tomorrow?

First outing of the year, just checking if anyone is going. looks like it will be light load trip, new moon, low swell, and good tidal activity for the day.

Working on it! Maybe my wife will let me cash-in my Father's Day pass and fish tomorrow.

I need me a yella for sashimi!

Great day out! Limit of YT and tons of calico biting, released them small and big. Live bait n surface iron tady 45. Lost few to seals and tangles but still got 5 nice YT in 7 to 15lb range. As always the crew is top notch on the belle!

So jealous!!! Wish I could have made it. Nice job on the yellows. What kind of bait did they have? What size?

Yeah, that was a SUPER fun day. Run & Gun island style, chasing schools. Strong Calico bite, along with lots of Cuda. Nothing like the pull of YT on a sunny afternoon, though. This was my first time on the Belle, and I gotta say, the crew and captain were SO awesome.

Not sure I met you, GKR1, or maybe I did and just didn't know it. I was dressed just like my avatar picture. I was the dude throwing a Wax Wing on heavy bass gear most of the day. 10-15 lb Yellows are SO much fun with a Lexa 400 and a Okuma Guide Select XH Swimbait rod.

I learned some new names for barracuda on this trip that I'd never heard before: sabertooth mackerel, snot logs (my favorite), slimers. You always learn something new when you go fishing.

SonyCbad, I threw the Wax Wing and Tady most of the morning, but switched to bait in the afternoon. They had Sardines anywhere from 6" to 8". Lively bait. I was able to locate strong swimmers without too much hunting. I used a 2/0 ringed J hook and did well. If you care about keeping the Cudas, you'll want to use circle hooks or jigs, though.

I think we spoke on the way back. You were telling me a story about YT bite with huge mackerel?

There few with the mask/visor on. So its 50/50 shot. haha

Nope, but I think I did overhear part of that story. Well, if it happens again, I'll have to find you and shake your hand for the heads up on that trip. Glad we both had a great time. I slept VERY well last night after that big day.

    Haha. Fish Stories.

Glad you made it out. Season just started so there will be a lot more opportunities and when BFT and YFT come up further north.

I slept great as well. By the time I proceeded the fish it was 11pm. Took hot shower and woke up not long ago.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the bounty!
