Took my son and grandson out to fish the Highline today and didn't see another person anywhere fishing. Managed 4 small fish. 2 large-mouth and 2 smallmouth. Saw some really big fish around also. With all of SD shut down this was a nice way to get out and really keep distance from people.

Another great video from ya. Thanks for sharing your adventure Rob.
Not sure when we will be back at work and no fishing here, so your video definitely made my day! :)

That drive out there seems to get quicker and quicker over time. It use to feel like forever. People fish for different reasons, and most do not have the motivation to drive that far. Take Lake Morena for example, the best big bass lake in Southern California. The bite would be on fire, and I would be the only boat launching on the lake. I might see one or two shore fisherman going for bass, and that's it. If a 40 mile drive to Morena is "too far" - who's going to drive 100+ miles for some river fish? Just a few of us.

I used to fish Morena but they got very anel about water in the boat, not going into my story but I wiped the small bit of moisture in my live well with 2 paper towels and they still would not let me on the lake, but a boat right next to me had a lot water that he used to dry up with a beach towel but still let him on the lake. Out side of that I have had many many multi fish days on that lake. I don’t even know if the ramp is still in service

Lmao.. never happen.. too much work to fish out there.. most of these weenies want to have someone hook the bass for them, and any other fish isn't worth catching anyway. Me? Cats, carp, tilapia, bluegill, redear, crappie.. all are good to catch, all have uses for me.. if not sport, then bait, food, chum, my garden...

Its fun just exploring out there , but to learn it takes a long time. There's easy fishing , there is tough fishing and some of it is down right dangerous. There are bite windows that some never find out about. They have all the same fish we do and then some. A hundred people could head east on the weekend and there would still be plenty of empty spots depending on what you want to fish for.

I've travelled down there my whole life for hunting or off roading even for work one time and I always love getting (the drive anyway you go is fun) there and seeing how life evolves so differently than in the suburbs. I've only fished on the all american canal when I was working down there and it was always productive.

Being a guy who loved to explore this kind of fishing should be right up my alley. Plus the solitude.
