Took my dad and son out in early June. We crushed it in the hauser arm, caught over 30 fish. Wanted to take my brother out for a similar experience. So we got out early to see if we could get a few on top water. Was on the water at 510, fishing in the arm by 530, still kinda dark. Man we fished hard, slow and steady, along shore, just off shore in a little deeper water. We tried frogs, spinner, buzz baits, and senkos (wacky and necko (sp)). We fished until 1130. Caught 2, a 6+ lb and a 3 lber. lost 2. We did catch a ton of weeds!!!

Also, one of the fish we caught I pulled TWO hooks out of its mouth. My good deed for the day.

Not the day we expected. My son (6y/o) wanted to go "catching" not "fishing" LOL. What happened to the 30 fish days? I guess the water is too hot? at the far end of Hauser the water was brown and really hot. Is this normal for later summer?

Good news was when we hit the dock we caught 9 bluegill, and a few bass. Thanks to the guys on the dock for hooking my son up with some small jigs. He loved "catching" those blue gill.

Well I guess I have to wait until next May to get my bro on the big fish.

I had a slow day yesterday too from a tube off pigs point area. Glad it wasn’t just me. 4 bass but had to work hard for them on the fly. Hope it turns around soon.

How deep would you say they are? I’ve got a fishfinder on my tube, and was fishing a lot in 15-30 ft. Just wondering if I should have been even deeper?

Nope. I had a big octopus hook. The one I found stuck near its stomach was a small #6 J hook with about 1ft of line attached.

Was not questioning your hook! I was just wondering if barbless hooks would stay in a fish, until removed. Sounds like someone fishing for bluegill accidentally hooked a big bass!

I fished with two friends on Sunday too and we found luck fishing the main lake. It was definitely slower than usual in the morning, we tried forever for top water and no luck but the texas rigged and spinnerbait bite picked up around 9. We left at noon with about 15 fish each.

We did not touch Hauser because we havent found much luck there in the past 2 weeks.
