    I actually didn't bring a rod but walked the entire length of Torrey Pines Beach today. Water clarity was excellent, and the water was still quite cold. There was almost no weeds in the water.

    I looked and looked and didn't see any signs of fish but we were there at nearly low tide and the sun was almost directly overhead.

    Saw a few people with poles in the water but no catching.

    Crowd was moderate.

    Also should mention - wasn't really seeing much in the way of sand crab beds. Might be the cold water.

    Did find a bed of micros, but nothing fishable size. May have just been due to the low tide.

    I think it was the penguins on the beach that pushed them down.
