Congrats! Labor Day weekend no less. Fire it up!
Be sure to foil the pan to minimize clean up.
Full size spare ribs, $1.75/lb at Wal Mart, peel the silverskin off the back, S/P apply rub, smoke 3 hours, wrap in foil 225 for 3 hours until meat reaches 195+ and enjoy.
To wrap ribs 2 layers of heavy duty large foil, put ribs on top, about a shotglass of water to help steam, 2 more layers on the top and roll the edges to seal.
Save the drippings, refrigerate to skim the fat, make a pot of rice with the drippings+ water.
The full spare rib is the St Louis cut plus the tips which are some brisket and belly meat. You will love or hate them. I love then and get away with ribs for about a buck less than any other rib cut.
Just to add to spideyjg. do more than 1 layer of foil. I usually put 3.
I also line the outside drip can with foil.
YouTube has lots of cleaning tips.
I bought a little inexpensive vacuum cleaner from Home Depot that I use to vacuum out the pellet ash. I bought one of those Rubbermaid trash can storage sheds, everything fits into it, grill, vacuum, BBQ tools, pellets, etc. It sits next to the cement patio. It keeps the critters out.
Does that sit next to the Cement Pond?
Nope, the cee-ment pond is over yonder.
FWIW I have that same unit and needed to adjust the pellet feeder. The first time I used it the temp was all over. After the adjustment, no problems as long as you keep it clean like Larry mentioned.
You mean you adjusted the 'P' setting? It does seem to fluctuate a lot but it settled down after 10-15 min yesterday when I did burgers.
I decided after reading this post to smoke a pork butt...I’m old school tho..I don’t push buttons...ok I’m not old school I’m broke and don’t have 1500 to spend on a grill cause pushing buttons would be much easier than babysitting a grill for 9 hours...
Nice. Yeah I wish I could get the big ones but the small Bronson 20 seems very nice to me so far.
That must be it. There is only one adjustment and it controls the amount of time between pellet dispensing. My son adjusted mine for me and the heat is much more consistent. I always clean the ashes and any other pellets not completely burnt.
I bet some Yellowtail would be great on there.
I still have some in the freezer so that is definitely on the list.
