i got out of school and decided to try NTC like robbiesmith told me to do.
i casted around on my way to the bridge, caught one, and got bit twice on the other side of that first bridge. i then crossed the bridge, and went back into the channel, where i picked off like 6 SBB right off the bat, went 2 for 2.

there were some alright sized ones, but the majority were in the 8" range(although i'm not good with offhand measurements they seemed like 8")
i fished all the way down that beach till the fence. the wind was really stopping my ability to feel any bites or set the hook on anything. and even through all that, there was a ton of eel grass. i'd say every cast was grass, and for any cast that i didn't get grass, i'd get bit or get a fish.
the grass was very healthy though on another note, very young and almost neon green, with some older stuff here n there.
i caught like 1 more on my way to the government fence, and it was really windy.
i headed to spanish landing, and caught one on a drop shot right as i was about to retie a different bait.
then as i moved into the rocks, picked up a few, and caught a nice one on the fall. was pretty cool to watch my line dart out.

all were caught on my homemade baits. some on the slugs and some on the fluke
just for future reference, if you're ever walking on the sand and go to the rocks, MAKE SURE TO WIPE YOUR SHOES. almost broke my shin, but luckily i caught myself with my wrist and elbow.
    final count
    ~10 SBB

also; why does it say i'm an sdfish vip? i just noticed it today and i didn't really ask for it or do anything to specifically earn it(although i'm not complaining)

NTC is dinky bass city, but it definitely has fish in it. Glad you gave it a chance! I'm gonna have to give that side a chance at some point. I can't imagine that many folks at all do so.

i would recommend that if you're gonna fish the other side, you use a weedless bait because i couldn't stay away from the grass

The park side is grass city, so I can't say I'm too surprised that the opposing side would be as well. I typically try to target NTC at a dead high or dead low tide, easier to position my casts so I'm fishing over, not through, the grass beds. Helps on high tide standing on the rocks to get some elevation/let the prevailing winds take the lure farther...

Yeah. The main channel drops off precipitously. I can only cast to it at very low tide. The edges of the channel run shallow and have a very gradual slope. At high tide you can still wade out pretty far if you were of the mind to. I won't wade because I like my feet to not be annihilated, but I have seen one guy in particular wade out a good ways during high tide. Its nice having the flats there to fish, lots of little holes and shallow grass to hide in for the bass as they target the massive amount of fry in the channel lol
