So I was told by the guy who work the concession that as far as he has been told there will be no stocking of Trout at the V , Can anybody else confirm this ?

If not then why all the powerbait and trout lures for sale in consession hmmmm

In the opening 3 weeks i heard 3 different stories on that topic from the DFG.
I don't think they are sure one way or the other.

Reminds me of Walmart selling Elk hunting gear.

When stocking fishing supplies all you've got to do is catch the fishermen and nothing else..... Win, win!

Aint that the truth, a couple months ago i seen someone fishing with salmon eggs... i told them that there were no trout in that lake but they kept on with the bait they had. A week kater they were back trying to buy salmon eggs and swearing that they caught big bass with them the week before. Silly me... i had no salmon eggs to sell.

From what I can tell nobody is targeting the trout that were planted when San V was refilling over the last year prior to opening again. Unlikely they were all eaten. Perhaps the massive amount of terrestrial vegetation in the water makes bait n' wait methods with light line used to target trout nearly impossible. Perhaps trolling is out of fashion. Perhaps water contact folks make trolling difficult. Perhaps there is just minimal interest in catching trout. Perhaps that will change as the water cools. Interesting to see if anything changes.

Catching trout? I just want the bass to get some nice protein pills, then the swim bait rod comes out.

Perhaps ;) It seems that somebody would have caught one by accident, by now, if they were still in there. Seems likely to me that they were all eaten, especially the way the bass were gorging on anything that moved, especially if the trout were DFG plants.
