Considering nothing gets done without the Donald’s approval, he was totally at fault for building too big and too opulent the “8th Wonder of the World”. It went chapter 11, 1 Year after opening. Apparently the casino racket was too tough to turn a profit since he took 4 casinos into dept protection.

For the record, I don’t think it would be difficult at all to convert inheritance of some 400m in 1990s value and all of Papa Fred’s domain to a couple billion today. Especially coupled with shedding of debt and the tax schemes of the 90s. To some I guess that’s their view of success; to each their own...

And here I thought this thread was going to be about some secret lair beneath Mar-a-Lago.

So the job I saw posted on Indeed.com about needing a tour director to take guests on the tour of the Trump Caves was not real?
Hell....I even sent a resume to them down there. Oh well...back to my regular job here in San Diego today again.

Keep the 3 cents coming !! All of it makes for excellent banter and debate. For the most part, having The Lounge available to vent political matters seems to help most folks. Its either that or keep it all inside and blow up at some point. I like it here. Vent, go fishing, vent some more, then fish some more.

    I like that ^^^

Creek Sounds like a Lounge Happy Hour is in order :emoji_beers:

Listened to a very optimistic and effective plan for mediation this morning by Chuck Fleishmann (R) TN

I’m wholly convinced that if we allow the senior appropriators from both sides to work towards a solution, they will deliver a logical collective of security measures...

    Just saying

Just participating in The Lounge is Happy Hour enough for me.

I dont care what the thing is called, but we need to listen to the ICE and BO agents that are begging for a wall of some order to be erected - not a fence, a wall. Some of the waaay left are now saying it has to be a fence - a see thru fence - a chain link fence. So I assume the US and China companies that make industrial strength bolt cutters are ramping-up their bolt cutter production for sales to Mexico and the caravan'ers ! Woohoo !! Thanks for the increased sales !

Doesn’t matter to me what it’s constructed of, structural and environmental engineers should be making that call per zone / region to be deployed.

Barriers are necessary to divert or obstruct free flow foot traffic into areas of accessibility - no doubt.

There are also areas that don’t need barrier construction with the same priority or emergent need as others. This is the main reason that I’m opposed to providing carte-blanche without independent oversight. I’m telling you if the dems give him the 5.7b now, it will sink him. His true cost has already ballooned beyond this amount and they haven’t even finalized design...

Plan and deliver the high need areas first and bolster the existing structures. Deliver wins and funding will follow.

BTW - who needs bolt cutters when they’re just going to continue tunnelling in, same as they do in San Ysidro and Otay ?

    My 2 pesos...

Government and over budget are one of the same. Can you say "bullet train?"
I agree there are places where a wall isn't possible. If we have the military patrol those areas the outcry would be tremendous, IMO.
People seem not to have a problem with illegally border crossing until something happens that effects them, then the crying starts.

We don't need military to patrol there, it's not in their charter nor are they properly trained to deal in this capacity. This is a great opportunity for Space Force, I guess

However, upping the staffing of BP agents and unmanned technologies will be effective here.

Charters can be changed. How hard would it be to train the military to stop people from crossing? Just the fact that the military would be seen there would be a factor. I would think that the drug smugglers wouldn't want to take them on.
Technology is great, if follow up action would be taken.

    Just a thought.

It's not training towards the lines of establishing a physical presence. There will need to be robust training in humanitarian and psychological efforts; what to do when they're in front of you injured and crying with small children present and you don't speak Spanish.

Most, probably don't realize that you're not justified nor authorized to knock them off the wall like a pinata. There's liability factors present as well if protocols are breached. Best to leave this effort to ICE

Where is the technology to detect tunneling? Haven't heard jack on that.
What is the penalty for the coyotes that dump people in the Yuha desert to die? Is the Mexican law going to fry those rat *******s as harshly?

Oh the inhumanity of it all!!!
Let us cross the border, if we are treated badly we can sue. Americans are suckers, they'll pay.
So now we have to worry about the psychological problems that these people might occur?
It's too bad that hugging isn't allowed anymore that would go a long way for them to cope with their psychological problems. How much would it cost to train to the military to hug people? I don't think that's in their MOS job description.
This is why people flock here because people here will bend over backwards to give them everything.

Disclaimer, this is just my opinion.
    This if fun.

There are currently some "devices" in place (similar to that of a big listening and feeling device that would be used to hear earthquakes) that allow detection of digging with power tools and explosives. But they only cover a narrow corridor - they have no reach to the sides. So those get installed in the obvious locations - on Siempre Viva and all the areas by the airport that are considered "industrial." Anywhere there's a warehouse on the other side, there will be a detection monitor on the other. They don't always work. I have no idea what depth they're good to. But I know their lateral vision is no bueno.

The wall. Its a structure. It screams KEEP OUT. Too many points of access where there is no wall. And the fencing.. another joke. Fences are scaled. The movement lasers are avoidable, too.

So I'm all for spending as much money as needed for national security. Just ditch one or two of those federal-funded freebie programs to pay for it and I'll be happy. By the way.. get ready to have your paycheck taxes go up. Occasional Cortex has pretty much everyone riding her coat tails on this one. Bunch of monkeys running around the House, each trying to use her statements as their 2020 bid running platforms. Geezuz, Kamala Harris is using her insurance plan idea to run on. You'd think with the frequency in which she's attached to Occasional Cortex, the two might be a couple. Twisted.

I now hear Booker (another obvious hater) and a few others publicly asking if their own people (other blacks running for offices) are true "slave" blacks or if they're just using their shade of non-slave heritage blackness as a springboard to get the black attention and eventual votes. If you dont have slave roots in your family, you apparently are being called out. Well, Harris isn't true black, she's half and half of some island black. Either way, she isn't slave black like Booker calls it. This entire Democratic swing left has become such a shltshow that I'm thinking that national purge I'm always talking about is alot closer to fruition than I originally thought.

Dems have no interest in increasing badges to patrol. These are the same people that think ICE needs to be abolished. And they want more what? Officers on the ground? I just went through a debrief with another agency on what was really going on with the requests for assistance from BP and ICE. Basically, no one but Trump is willing to help. So ya, lets bring on some more badged officers to help with Border security, just as long as we dont hire any more badged officers because they arent needed for more border security. What?
